Many people have strong opinions about international trade agreements. Debates about trade, such as the debate over whether Congress should pass legislation that binds the US to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), are not only about the agreements themselves but also about different ideas of what makes an agreement free or fair. Oregonians have been active and vocal participants in global debates over trade since the creation of North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). Lawyer and researcher Michael Fakhri will lead participants in a conversation about how we assess the value of international trade agreements. Read more.
