Legacy Giving

Making a gift of lasting impact is a great way to extend your support of Oregon Humanities for future generations to inherit a more just, connected, and reflective Oregon. There are several gift arrangements to choose from.

Gifts in wills and living trusts

Also known as a charitable bequest, this is a simple and versatile way to support Oregon Humanities. By including a bequest to Oregon Humanities in your will or living trust, you are ensuring that we can continue changing lives and transforming communities in Oregon for years to come.

Sample language for your bequest:

“I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise, and bequeath to Oregon Humanities, whose current address is 610 SW Alder St. #1111, Portland, Oregon 97205, [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose as determined by the Oregon Humanities Board of Directors.”

Gifts from life insurance or retirement plan

By naming Oregon Humanities as a beneficiary on your life insurance or retirement plan, you can provide a gift while realizing tax benefits for your estate.

Gifts that provide income

Charitable remainder trusts are a way to generate income for you or other beneficiaries with the remainder of the assets going to Oregon Humanities. There are different vehicles to choose from depending on your wishes.
