Communities around the state have year-round access to free discussions through the Conversation Project: A New Chautauqua, a program of Oregon Humanities that connects Oregonians with public scholars and provocative ideas.

Oregon Humanities has awarded two Responsive Program Grants, supporting organizations that respond quickly and thoughtfully to current issues and events shaping our world.

Humanity in Perspective (HIP), Oregon Humanities’ free college humanities course for low-income adults, will graduate its tenth class at Reed College’s Vollum Lounge, 3203 SE Woodstock Ave., Portland, at 3:00 p.m. on April 10, 2011. $80,000 in Grants Awarded to Oregon Nonprofits

Oregon Humanities awards grants for projects that connect Oregonians to new ideas

Twenty-three nonprofit organizations throughout the state will receive $80,000 in grants from Oregon Humanities for public programs that create conversation about some of Oregon’s most divisive issues, including immigration, climate change, and public health.

Oregon Humanities Awards $1,000 Responsive Program Grants for African American History Programs

Oregon Humanities has awarded two Responsive Program Grants of $1,000 to support programs on African American history from the Oregon African American Museum (OAAM) and the Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center (MHIC).
