Second "Power of a New Idea" film now available for viewing
The second of three short films created by Jelly Helm and Grow Film for Oregon Humanities is now available for viewing. The film premiered Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at Wordstock Think & Drink with Richard Read and Lijia Zhang in Portland. Help secure federal funding for the humanities
In the coming days, the House and Senate will be meeting in a special conference committee to work out differences between their funding recommendations for the National Endowment for the Humanities. There’s a lot at stake in the outcome of this negotiation: If the House funding version prevails, funding for the humanities in all states will increase; in Oregon alone, this would mean an increase of approximately $100,000 to Oregon Humanities, which will be passed along in grants and... Oregon Humanities releases first in series of short films on the power of new ideas
To mark the culmination of a two-year-long strategic planning and branding process, Oregon Humanities has released the first in a series of short films, “The Power of a New Idea,” produced by Jelly Helm and Grow Film. Film #1 features Jon Broderick, Andrew Proctor, Julia Oh, Norma Paulus, Randy Gragg, Carolezoom, Dave Allen, Sharnissa Clemons, Tonisha Toler, Tom Spanbauer, and Pancho Savery.
